Warrenton is the county seat of Fauquier County, Virginia. Named after Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War patriot with close ties to Paul Revere, Warrenton has had a rich history of nearly two-hundred years. Thanks to the town's status as a country resort, with its close proximity to Fauquier Springs and active equine industry, much of this history has survived in a wide variety of photographs and postcards marketed to tourists of the time. It is the goal of this web site to collect and preserve this vast pictorial history. We currently have available 258 photographs, postcards, and contemporary prints and illustrations of Warrenton and the surrounding area.
